Looking At Leading Brands Of Stair Lifts

Leading manufacturers of stair lifts include Bruno, Stannah and Savaria Concord and Acorn. Although they all offer competent products, there are subtle differences that the potential buyer should review. Savaria Concord offers both straight stair lifts and curved stair lifts. Their standard straight stair lift, the B-07 straight stair lift, can be installed both indoors and outdoors, for residential or commercial use. It also comes in versions that use battery power or instead electrical outlet power. It has a 300-pound capacity, with the potential to be upgraded to a 400-pound capacity. Its aluminum rail is durable and it has a swivel seat that can turn either at a 45-degree angle or a 90-degree angle. It has both an adjustable seat height and an adjustable height of its footrest unit. For further comfort and safety, it can also be used with a seat belt, and fold-up armrests. It has a constant pressure control switch on the armrest, obstruction sensors and a safety brake on the carriage. The seat and the footrest fold up for easy storage and the foot rest has an anti-skid surface. The curved stair lift model offers similar service, with no rail overhang at the top landing. The company, Bruno offers an attractive curved stair lift model, known as the Electraride III. This stair lift can be installed on curved staircases in as little as three weeks. For straight stair lifts, they have 4 distinct models available, the Electra-ride LT, the Electra-ride II, the Electra-ride Elite and the Outdoor Electra-ride Elite. Bruno claims to be North America's largest producer of stair lifts. The Stannah group lists itself as the world's largest manufacturer of stair lifts, and is based in the United Kingdom. Their products include stair lifts, passenger lifts, vertical platform lifts and good lifts. Their website includes a photo library with extensive pictures of their stair lifts installed in a number of different homes. Acorn is also a leading manufacturer of stair lifts. All of their stair lifts use battery power, in order to avoid messy power cables, and also to have power available in blackouts or other power disruptions. They are supposed to be quiet and smooth, with an easy to operate joy-stick control. They have safety sensors, and a digital status display. Their superglide system is easy to install. For the straight stair lift model, it literally can be installed in hours. Acorn has an interesting model, called the perch model stair lift, for unusually narrow stairs. It has a very small seat, but it still is a workable model. It has the person in a semi-standing position, which can also be useful if a person has trouble bending their legs, and transferring from a sitting to a standing position.
